A Message From Executive
Vice President
Michael Eboka
The establishment of our new website gives me a great pleasure and a unique opportunity to
reach out to all Ubulu-Uku sons and daughters living here in the Diaspora as well us those in our
beloved motherland. My message is an appeal and a call for unity because divided we fall, united
we can stand tall.

As a newly elected member of the UUU.USA executive body, I am focused on bringing a
meaningful change to our association through the introduction of a new membership drive
initiative that is inclusive of all Ubulu-Uku sons and daughters. The monumental task of
rebuilding Ubulu-Uku is one that we all must bear.  It is no secret that previous and current
governments have failed us and continues to show no proclivity to address the myriad of issues
that confront our people on a daily basis.  We must take the initiative and the responsibility to do
our best for our people.

Individually we can make minuscule impacts on the daily lives of our people; collectively we can
move mountains through holding our elected officials to the promises they make because there
is strength in numbers. If we refuse to do it, no one is going to do it for us.  The time has come
for us to put our differences aside and come together as one to embrace the big challenges that
are currently facing us.  It is no longer just okay to sit on the side lines and blame others for not
being perfect on all decisions while at the same time not offering any positive feedback on how
to move along our agenda of improving the lots of our people. We must find ways to encourage
the few that have found it necessary to participate in various ways. No single individual has all
the answers, therefore we need every one of you to come join forces so that we can move our
association forward to help our town.

You must remember that time waits for no one. While we are bickering and fighting amongst
ourselves, other towns are moving on.  What is it going to take for us to realize that Ubulu-Uku
is not benefiting from our infighting? Either way you look at it, we have all got to look in the
mirror and ask ourselves what we have done lately for this town that we all call our own. Why
is it okay to attend other association’s meetings and yet you can not find time to participate in
Ubulu-Uku meetings. Brothers and sisters, the time has come for us all to stand and be
counted.

Somehow each and every one of us needs to find time to participate in the rebuilding of our
town, in spite of all the differences.  On behalf of the UUU, USA Association, as the executive
Vice President, I am using the opportunity presented by this medium to appeal to all Ubulu-Uku
sons and daughters to come join us in our quest to invite all progressive thinking members of
the Ubulu-Uku community to contribute. Our new website at www.ubulu-ukuusa.org provides
a quick and easy way to register your membership.

I look forward along with the current executive body of the Ubulu-Uku USA Association to
working with all Ubulu–Uku sons and daughters as we search for ways to return our great town
to its preeminent position in the Delta State.

Michael Eboka (current UUU Vice President) hails from Idume-Osume Quarters and graduated
from Anglican Grammar School Ubulu-Uku. Mr. Eboka further graduated with an
Undergraduate Degree (Finance) from Kennesaw State University Atlanta and an MBA from
University of Phoenix.  He has held various high level positions at the City of Atlanta Municipal
Government including: Benefit Administrator, Deputy Director of Employee Benefits and now
Principal Financial Manager for the City with oversight over Payroll and Pension Administration.

My pledge is to invest my experience in helping to build confidence in the decision making
process towards the achievement of the UUU stated objectives for the forward progress of our
people and town.

God Bless you all!

Michael Eboka (V.P., UUU USA Assoc.)
